Year 1 Update – $9,796.08 of mortgage paid off

In the year since I’ve started this blog, I’ve managed to reduce my mortgage balance by $9,796.08. Not great but a good start.

I should be able to start comfortably throwing more money at the mortgage again in May if all goes as planned. Here’s hoping. :)

Every dollar you send toward the mortgage, takes a bunch off the top. If you pay an extra $1,000 at the early stages of the mortgage, that is $1,000 that you do not have to borrow for 30 years.

Every dollar counts! My first year was my slowest, but I kicked it up as I saw that balance go down. $9K is great!
